Thank you for joining the emailing list of Autistic Reality! Autistic Reality is an independently run advocacy firm focusing on disability advocacy, public speaking, lobbying, public relations, peer advocacy, photography, and various other vital efforts. Our Director is Alec Frazier, currently based out of Buffalo, New York, in the United States of America. We are very excited by our current mailing list, which includes educators, business folks, friends and family, and even members of various government organizations! We are proud to say that our reach includes some international members. There is no limit to the amount of people or the diverse conditions of people who can be served by advocacy!

As our name implies, it is our goal to focus on advocacy with realistic, yet optimistic expectations. We believe that meeting with all sides of the table in a nonhostile fashion gets a lot accomplished. Even if you vastly dislike a person or their organization, meeting with them and hearing them out ensures that they will have to interact with you as a capable equal. Meetings, dialogues, conferences, conventions, one-on-one discussion, and, if necessary, discussion with advocates can get a tremendous amount accomplished! We believe that good effort deserves to be celebrated, and positive energy is vitally important to spreading a positive message about your cause. We are very proud to say that we have already accomplished that we have already accomplished a great deal using these tactics. What we at Autistic Reality will not do is publicly mourn, protest, boycott, riot, or take part in any behaviors that we believe to be negative or confrontational. Even if the party on the other side of the aisle is being hostile and playing dirty, we at Autistic Reality pride ourselves on using established peaceful dialogue. The legal system is to be used as a method of last resort.

We are very glad to do public speaking engagements on disability, advocacy, growing up with autism, proper treatment of those with disabilities, and even our book, Without Fear: The First Autistic Superhero. If you wish, we can tailor make a speech to conform to your various needs. We always ask that transportation, travel, accommodation, and per diem meals be paid. Depending on the amount of money held by the hiring party, we may also ask for speaker’s fee.
The first edition of the book Without Fear: the First Autistic Superhero on sale at the Museum of disABILITY History.
As mentioned, we have a book, Without Fear: The First Autistic Superhero. This book is a literature review of a character from the Daredevil comic books as seen through a disability studies lens. It is now in its second edition, which includes a disability resources list, and an essay on the publication of the first edition. We have developed a special lecture focusing on the production of this book, on the topics it summarizes, and on a message of advocacy that it carries. If you wish to have a copy of this book, it is three dollars for students, and five dollars for everyone else. Please email us if you are interested.

Without Fear: The First Autistic Superhero has a Facebook page at:

We will be promoting the book on Saturday, May 2 at Ithacon 40 in Ithaca, New York. The convention will be taking place at the Emerson Suites in Phillips Hall of Ithaca College from 10 AM to 5 PM. We will be in costume as the character from the book. We will also be promoting the book at Buffalo Comicon on October 17th and 18th at the convention center in Buffalo, New York. It is also quite possible that we will be giving a panel on the book.

Autistic Reality also does endorsements. We have a number of national and even international connections, and if we feel that a product, book, film, establishment, event, or another such marketable concept is worth our mention in an endorsement, then we will noise it about our social networks, as well as writing a glowing review of the concept in question on our blog.

We hope that this will be the first of many newsletters! At this point, we are planning on making the newsletters monthly. If you have any feedback, please respond back to us individually at the email address mentioned above. When it comes to advocacy, I must think of the old family motto:

Je suis prest/I am ready!
