Visions First Meeting, by Alec Frazier

Visions is a group of self-identifying artists, writers, concept developers, and other talent from the Buffalo, NY area.
It is spearheaded by a number of local merchants, including Hanes Supply owner Teddy C. Hanes, and Queen City Bookstore owner Emil J. Novak Sr., pictured above. Our goal is to gather local talent to create comic books and other creations!
Visions held their first meeting on Saturday, January 26th, at 2:00 p.m. at My Tomato Pie Restaurant (located in the Northtown Plaza). This first meeting was a meet and greet with talent and other future Visions’ contributors. There we discussed work and goals. This was NOT a portfolio review or a job interview! This was a networking event with people who have the same passion—comics and creating comics!
We asked that artists bring samples of their work. The samples could be photocopies or originals. We preferred samples that we could take with us for our files.
We asked that writers bring a sampling of their writing (a 2-3 page example of their story), and also a brief synopsis of their story idea(s) and character descriptions.
Visions is excited to meet more creators and get to know what they are working on. We sincerely hope for a prosperous future!
